IFPM® members are required to complete at least 30 hours of continuing education every year to ensure that certified members are up-to-date with their management knowledge in this fast changing global environment.
All IFPM members must keep track of their continuing professional development credits (CPDs) annually and attest that they have met the CPD requirements as part of their membership renewal each year. Minimum credit is equal to one hour of continuing education unless specified and approved by IFPM.
Current IFPM policy allows all credits in excess of the 30 hours to be carried over to subsequent years. Where a program runs for more than one calendar year, the credits earned in excess can be forwarded to the following year.
In addition, all IFPM® must agree to update their personal situation during the past year as part of renewal process. All public, civil, criminal or disciplinary actions that may have been taken against them must be disclosed as part of the requirement.
Only IFPM accredited continuing professional development programs will be recognized for this purpose, which include attendance of seminars, conferences, workshops and discussion meetings, working in the relevant fields as a presenter, instructor or committee members in professional organizations, or research or preparation for meetings and technical reading.
